  1. ACK No heat!

    by , June 22nd, 2009 at 10:47 AM
It was a cool windy night. I discovered in the night the main heat registers aren't working. Since it's summer and usually hot they only provide a single sheet and one of those fake velour blankets. I was able to survive by closing off my bedroom and opening the door to the bathroom and running a small forced air electric fan in the bathroom on high all night. This morning it's 49 degrees outside, my part of the duplex is cool but adequate. The kitchen and living area is 58 degrees. Leaving ...

  2. I'm here... I'm bored.

Well I'm here in the vast wasteland that is Ellensburg, WA. It's a very dry environment here. Often in the 90's in the summer. But situated very close to the mountains so every afternoon winds come rushing down out of the pass. Today it's cold, cloudy, and the winds are blasting as usual. I'm in a complex of about 40 "cottage/duplexes" I don't have a room mate yet. I look out around me and don't see any other cars so apparently I'm the only one here now. I'm debating driving over ...

  3. Off to school for a week!

    by , June 21st, 2009 at 03:33 PM
Well I'm off to take a class on Sound Design and Engineering for the next 5 days. I take these every summer at Central Washington University. Thorin81 will be there to. It's a program offered for teachers. You can either work on a masters degree (like Thorin's doing) or just take them for professional development. I've already got a masters in Education and don't really want a second one... 7 years of college was enough for me thank you. I'm going to maintain my high school teaching certification ...

Ever since we started running banner ads for companies, we've had an issue with the dropdown menus going under a flash banner instead of over it.

No matter what I tried, how many z-index CSS rules I looked up, how many hours of investigating the Document Object Model(what defines how HTML, CSS, and Javascript play together), the error persisted. I can't even count how many hours I've worked on this bug.

The solution literally came to me in my sleep last night. Not ...
  5. Yup, we have Blogs (and other things are coming)

    by , June 20th, 2009 at 08:55 AM
Something that has been promised for a long time. We finally have blogs for users. This feature is available to those with a CB Supporters subscription.

I, for one, look forward to seeing what people choose to blog about. Same rules apply to blogs as to the forums. (no rigging, electric, pyro discussions and no direct selling)

There are some other new features in the works, some are minor additions, some are major new parts of the site.
