I love what I do. I've been doing the same show now for almost five years. This is the first time I have ever worked on a permanent show. The closest I had come to doing so before was about two and a half months on Phantom of the Opera when it made a stop at the theater where I worked. No, I don't have a headache, I just had to dredge up some old knowledge today. Today, we are working on a 3D movie - reshooting some scenes and new footage for some others. This of course is in a custom built theater, with a permanent show (thus pretty set lighting package), and we haven't changed much of the equipment since it was installed. I am coming up on a regularly scheduled dark for my theater. Since we do shows year round, we have to plan on closing to do PM. Some projects are just too great to get done over the regular couple of days off each week. If you haven't read my featured article, I recommend that you do. This week I had a moment to beat myself up. OK, so not everyone thinks that I was actually needing to beat myself up, and they are probably much more correct than I am. I love what I do and I love to talk about it. My wife usually gets glassy eyed as I tell her about work (she's not a theater person, never has been). In fact, besides my family, my work is my life.
