I gotta admit, I'm kind of excited. I posted a press release from Artists Rep earlier this year announcing that we were opening next season with a production of Long Days Journey Into Night that we were producing in conjunction with Sydnet Theater Company. Tomorrow a few of their representatives start arriving. I get to meet with the SD, LD, AD & BM. They are really interested in seeing the theater where we will be performing and getting info about scenic houses here in town. We are going to be producing this show at the Newmark Theater in the PCPA as itgoing to be a little too big to fit into our two tiny theaters combined. I've been spending time on the phone with reps from several of the local scenic houses and the staff of the PCPA to prep for some tours of their respective facilities. I just can't wait to show off the talent pool we have to pull from here in Portland. I really wish I could build this set myself but to be realistic our scene shop just isn't big enough or well equiped to produce scenery on the scale they are talking about. Oh well, someday maybe.
If I seem scarce or hard to get a hold of just know I'm busy as all get out, prepping Design For Living to be built, dealing with everyday life and prepping for LDJ. I'm busy, but excited.
