Open - Search function returning error

( I hope this is the approprate place for bug reports)

Using FireFox 3.0.11 I go to the main screen, and enter in a search command into the light grey box on the upper right (IE "dimming color kinetics")

I get a page with the following text

Fatal error: Call to a member function shareads() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/controlbooth.com/httpdocs/forums/includes/functions.php(5721) : eval()'d code on line 16

When I do that (enter "dimming color kinetics" w/o quotes into the search box), I get no errors and return three threads, including this one.

If the problem persists, as a work-around, try this:
Click on Advanced Search, and enter your term or phrase into the Google Search window. Typing the above phrase here returned 22 hits, but not this thread, as Google hadn't indexed it yet.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. Like Derek, I cannot seem to replicate the issue. Does this happen consistently?

It is no longer occurring. Smells like a 'Could Not Repeat' to me.

When it was happening - I got the error for any search. IE it was repeatable for five to ten minutes.

I am happy to mark this one closed - who does that ( Do I change it or does the site admin?)

I just reproduced the problem and have more data.

This occurs if I make the search from the main page. IE go to controlbooth.com and do the search from there. If I am in a forum, search works fine.

So the issue should not be closed.

alright, I was able to reproduce the error. when you go to www.controlbooth.com it doesn't happen. When you go to controlbooth.com (no www) it happens.

I'll let you know when I've got that resolved.

I think I've got it fixed. Could you test it?
