Viewing attachments on older posts?
Greetings..
I've been trying to look at some attachments on some posts, including this one: http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/s...p-boxes-3.html There is a .dwg file referenced in one of the posts that I would like to look at, but when I try to download it, all I get is a file called clear.gif. You're not doing anything wrong. CB is currently having trouble with attachments. If your need is eminent, send Van a private message, and perhaps he can repost or email the drawing to you. As I recall, it was just a box with a hinged bottom, held closed by the solenoid.

We've isolated the problem, and the cause. We'll have the fix in tonight, and we are working on a permanent fix to keep this from happening again.
I should add that there is nothing to worry about, all of the attachments and images are safe. The problem was with a server setting that wasn't allowing the site to access the directories, which are secured from direct access.

I actually might have deleted that photo as it was part of the old system that I didn't understand. I needed to post more photos in another post and didn't hae any room on the server, Send me an email I'd be happy to help if you need it.

An externally linked image is missing from this post: http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/c...-lighting.html. One would hope we're working toward a better way of dealing with images and attachments.

Unfortunately, I can't control externally-linked images. There is a new unified attachment system that will be going in with vBulletin 4.0 that handles all internal attachments in one place.
Even after that goes in though, I won't be able to control the availability of external images.

This is why I'd rather not have to depend on externally linked images and keep everything here on our servers. I can't remember what site I used to host the image, nor can I find it on my local drives, but as I recall it was just a screen shot of the linked document, so not that big a deal.
