    Default smilies not working correctly?

For example, my favorite  doesn't seem to work right now. It's working in the advanced text editor but not up in the preview above or on the actual post. It's weird because sometimes if I just go away and come back in 10 minutes the smilies are working.

I have the same problem. I've tried to use  twice over the past three or four days, but wasn't able to. Had to settle for or , but its just not the same.

Our autobot wiki linking thingy over-rides smilies. Thus shock is permanently broken, unless we delete that wiki entry.

We'll get over it, as long as no one defines angryoldman.

Can't we just change the  smilie to :shocked so that it works again?

I've sent in a request to the wiki developer to see what he can do to set the software to ignore any wiki term between colons.

Good, because this is obviously the most pressing issue we have with the wiki development. :sardonic:

    Issue posted here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2433/

No, it's not a pressing issue, but it does affect more than just the wiki, so it's something I want to address.

some of the other changes/bugs require changes to the underlying framework of the wiki itself and those have been addressed in the progress I've seen on the upcoming new version of the wiki.

    Default Smiley and Wiki Issue

    smilies not working correctly?-thread-view.jpg
    smilies not working correctly?-editor-view.jpg

Notice that the smiley doesn't appear outside of the editor.

The automatic wiki link generator must be seeing "shock" inside of
    Code:

before the software looks for that and replaces it with the correct image file.

Using Internet Explorer 8 on Window 7 Ultimate.

Sometimes when a is really needed, I find it best to just use [img] tags on the actual image file.
    HTML Code:
    [IMG]http://controlbooth.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif[/IMG]
EDIT: That's strange. It's still parsing text inside of the CODE tags. HTML tags don't get parsed though.

In other news, the new wiki development is coming along finally. We've made it past 93%.

Wiki development is coming along much faster than he's posting. I'm already working with him on the alpha. That's as much as I can say.

when you want to talk about bbcode, instead of using the code tag, use the NOPARSE tag.
