I've been having problems with both the "New Posts" and "Today's Posts" functions, along with the entire Search function. Ever since the switchover to the new site none of them have worked (and I didn't have the ambition to post something about it till now.) When I click on one of them, either nothing loads at all or the page that loads says:
vBulletin Message This forum requires that you wait 8 seconds between searches. Please try again in 7 seconds. (which doesn't make any sense because it doesn't make any difference if I wait a certain amount of time.) I've tried resetting all my cookies and stuff, but things still don't work. Am I the only one experiencing these problems? It would nice to actually be able to use the site like I should be able to. Any help? |

Let me do some tests with a dummy account to see what results I can come up with. I'll let you know.

I logged in with one of my dummy accounts and for the life of me could not replicate the error you reported. Could you try again and let me know what time you try to search (I had an odd database error yesterday, and I wonder if you were the one having the issue)

I have a thought for you all to ponder. I know that in the past, my mouse has had a tendency to double click when I didn't. That would explain why you are getting the wait messages, as since you are unexpectedly clicking twice, you are in fact telling the website to search twice and so it tells you to stop clogging up the server. If it is this, then I suspect that if, the next time you get this error, you were to navigate back using your browser, you might see what you had wanted.
Just a thought. |

No, it still doesn't work. What I have figured out is that it might have something to do with the browser I'm using: Firefox, because when I tried it with Internet Explorer everything worked just fine. I don't know why it doesn't work in Firefox. That browser has worked well for me since I switched to it. I guess I'll just have to revert back to Internet Explorer whenever I visit CB...

Sorry I can't help more but at least you now know it does work on Firefox. |

Hmm... I've always used Firefox and just loaded the latest version 1.5.0.2 and CB works fine.
