Default Server Issues

So, it's been an insane day. Database Server had data loss due to corruption on the RAID array. That was fixed, then the File Server's RAID went down completely. The site was restored from backups, and the database was restored from the latest backups available, which at this point was almost 48 hours ago. So, I apologize for the data loss, and we're looking at some new hosting services that offer off-site redundancy and replication.

I understand that there was some serious 'booth withdrawal, I recommend going thru the older posts and looking for threads that have information that could be added to the wiki. It's very therapeutic.

I was almost at 2000 posts..... just had to drag me back....

Got to love it when an array goes down and completely fails, I guess that .2% chance of losing everything has to happen sometime.

I think this place should shut down for a few days every year and change the homepage to.... GO WORK ON YOUR SHOW THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO AVOID

Or track down that client that never returned e-mails or phone calls.

This is a perfect example of why you should back up your shows and back up your personal computers!

At least three times, rotating the media, and store a copy off-site. The equipment can be replaced (more or less, easily). The programming cannot!

I found it quite soothing to learn it was January 9th last night. That would have given me so much more time to prepare for my show.

Apparently the flux capacitor was working, but went down with the array.... hate it when that happens.

aaahhh, I was starting to wonder when we'd get a Back To The Future reference in regards to the database being stuck in a virtual bermuda triangle.

Never forget that the connectors used to harness the lightning to the Delorian was an oldschool stagepin connector.

The correct term for that connector is a "Stage Plug" since there were no pins on it. We had floor pockets with stage plug plugs mounted in them in my highschool. Scary.

Where's my Mr. Fusion ? I want one for my electric car, well first I want an electric car, then I want a Mr. fusion.
