Many manufacturers are touting 3D display technology at the professional as well as the consumer level. It's great that the technology will be there, now there will be a need for training people to work with it. This article states that the degree is now being offered.

Come this fall, it will be possible to get a BA degree with a concentration in stereoscopic 3D. To earn this degree you will have to enroll in the interdisciplinary program to be offered at the School of Cinematic Arts at the world’s first film school, the University of Southern California.
