Rear Projection Drop Help ???

I am a volunteer at a local theater. I am a fairly experienced digital artist and am trying to figure out a way to possibly help this theater out. They have a ton of old drops and they are going to fall apart soon... some of them already are. I am in the process of re-creating all the art for the backdrops digitally for them just because I love what they do for the community but I'd like to know if there is a projection solution for the following:

array of ultra-short throw (roughly 4 feet from drop space) projectors that can have a hardware or software edge-blending capability.

I'd need to be doing this rear-projection, with this array mounted to the back theater wall.

I've used a software called "watchout" in the past where we did edge-blending with some gargantuan projectors but it was all front-projection and this was a good while ago. I'm sure there is better technology but you guys out there might be able to assist me.

I figure helping these guys out, if they are willing to sell some of these really old drops instead of letting them turn into dust, will give them enough cash to buy the equipment to keep them running for the next ten years and also give their old theater hands, who are also volunteers, a rest they need.

ANY HELP would be tremendously appreciated!

Well, I have been asking about a bunch of things we have needed in our theater for a while here, and now we pretty much have gotten our main goals done, except a new light board, but that will be soon.
We are also looking for new speakers, but thats pretty simple.

Anyways, we randomly got money to repaint the ceiling, hey, any improvements are welcomed, especially if we don't pay for it : )
Right now the walls are the white cement blocks you see in schools a lot, and ceiling is plaster with wood on top to walk around the rafters (I wouldn't walk in there if I had to, no way am I crashing through the ceiling : P
Anyways, since we are repainting the ceiling, we figured, why not try and find some cheap wallpaper? We were thinking of some desighns, and i think I found a good one, This would only be on the sides of the house, the proscenium arch and wall around it would still be white, and the rear wall of hte house is wood panal sort of thing.
I was thinking the ceiling be a nice red, and for the walls, one side have a city in daytime, and the otherside a city in night time, what do you think? :)

Hi All.

I would like to sync my lights to the music. I was looking at the Chauvet X factor. I see that the software is Free on the site. I assume that what it makes it $500 is Playback 1 scene without a computer correct? So instead of paying $500 I could just get a decent USB to DMX output and use that to connect to my computer and use the FREE software. Correct?

Believe it or not, this was setup like a cooking show, lit only with their new Nemo line of Solid Stage Plasma lighting fixture so that they could show off how well the lights work in a film environment. (they had some sweet Panasonic cameras and consoles running the video show)

Ok, so when our school theatre was built, the electrician thought that the Scene Shop would be the PERFECT place to put our to Sensor Dimmer Racks. WRONG! They are constantly full of dust, I vacuum them out almost every day, and they run at almost 81 degrees Fahrenheit all the time. It's becoming a problem, lights are jumping, major issues overall. I can't seem to think of a solution. Anybody know anything?
