In other words, don't expect your iPhone to be able to control your Express anytime soon (ever actually. Unless there's a way via Emphasis, but I don't think any ETC other than ObsII supported anything other than iPaq.)
You might want to look into a product called Focus Phone.

Here's some lighting/audio apps I've chanced across recently:
Light Calc ("Lite" version free, pro version $5) is a sectioning cheat sheet. Input the beam/field angle and throw to get the diameter. Still messing with the "lite", but it seems simple and effective. The pro version will calculate footcandles, and has an instrument inventory already. ProRemote (also in light and pro versions) allows wifi control of ProTools. I haven't bought either versions. Luminair ($100) is the first attempt I've seen at an iPhone RFU in the app store. It requires Art-Net protocol and wifi. I haven't bought this one either (nor do I plan on anytime soon, as it wouldn't be compatible any system I've worked with). As I was typing this up, I found DMXCalc ($1). I haven't looked at it thoroughly yet, but from what I can tell at a glance, it's basically a what the name says. Now if only it's logo was the same blue as Light Calc. Oh, the pains of a color-conscious designer... Edit: I searched "DMX" and there's actually six apps for DMX dip switches, ranging from free to $5.

According to early reports from PLASA, the grandMA2 does support iPhone and iPod Touch natively, as an RFU. (So I guess I'll be getting an iPod Touch sometime after LDI.)

I have to agree, this will walk.
One option is to install findmyi app. Jailbroken/cydia. more info at findmyi.org. It runs unseen in background and you can track it down. I have an iPhone I use a LOT for work. Can't say enough about it. Here are some apps I actually use: A2Z Pro-conversions BeamCalc- Decibel-sound meter Dipswitch- Ecalcs-electrical ref/calc GelCalci-determine gel cut sizes and how many out of 1 sheet. Gel Swatch Library-Richard Pilbrow showed me this one! Light Calc Light- iswitch dmx- iresist- powercalc- shopcalc-this will add fractions etc. tiltmeter pro-level moving lights. just don't leave it on there I hope that helps. Good luck. Paul |

ETC will be releasing an iPhone remote for the EOS/ION/Element line. I saw a working demo of it today at USITT. They are saying it will cost $50 with all proceeds going to Behind the Scenes. I think with that, the wired remote market is soon to be dead. Completly dead. The app looked pretty sweet. You have full control of all console functions, including pan, tilt, color, beam, and all that good stuff. I highly doubt it will work with the expression line or an emphasis system, so if you are in that boat, your stuck.
