Re: Containers
Rain Drop Soup perhaps?
Seriously - it is a hard question to answer and you should use them for whatever you can. I tend to use such containers to keep screws/nuts/bolts etc from equipment that I am either servicing or repairing. I have also used them to store components in.
At the end of the day use them for whatever you can. I don't know about your containers but the Chinese food containers that we have over here tend to break fairly easily and the lids are not always the easiest to remove. In fact, I once sent several triacs flying across my tech bench when wrestling with a lid!
One good thing about our style is that they are made from clear plastic so you can see what is inside them. I use to use a lot of glass jars that I had collected over the years and now I am replacing them with other storage containers, such as plastic bins, component draws, multi compartment boxes, zip-lock bags, cardboard boxes and of course, plastic food containers. I recently collected several boxes that were used to pack computer towers in. These were very strong cardboard boxes that once I cut down to the hight that I wanted were perfect for cable bins. The person I collected them from told me that I should go to K-mart and buy the plastic ones. My response was "If it is free – use it!" After all, he was going to throw them away. If I hade found them to be unsuitable for my needs, I could do the same and all it has cost me is my time and effort.
So, I guess the answer to your question is to use them as best you can and use them to suit your needs.
