Default Tool Color Code

I was curious what your tool color code is.

I am in the process of starting to color code my tools, to mark them as my own. The plan is to use one band of blue, and one band of purple, most likely e-tape. I haven't figured out what to do on smaller items, or ones where tape might not be desirable. I thought that color combo, and especially purple, is probably not all that common. The guy at the hardware store gave me a weird look when I asked for purple e-tape to mark my tools... Unfortunately, they did not have it.

However I thought it might be interesting to get a sample of what color/color-combo everyone else used on their tools, so if you could put that in the first line of your first reply to this thread, that would be great, and then we can disseminate into discussion.

A band of green and a band of blue. Plus engraving as necessary.

Orange and purple. Engraving when I have to, painting when I have to.

I ue an engraving tool to put my initials on my tools - mics to c-wrenches, DI's to screwdrivers.

If you intend to use electrical tape, be prepared to deal with a gummy residue on your tools a year or two down the road. It might be better in the long term if you paint your markings on your tools.

I use purple green purple. And all are marked except my cheapo, "forgot one so I grabbed another $2.00 one" c-wrenches.

I used an orange or blue paint pen (my orange one ran dry) and wrote my name or initials as size warranted.

Simliar to this:
