Default PoziDriv

A trade mark name belonging to The Phillips Screw Co. and American Screw Company. Extremely similar to a phillips head screw, a PoziDriv screw head under goes a machining process in which the two slots meet at sharp right angles rather than the tapered, chamfered shoulders at the center of a Phillips type. Genuine PoziDriv screws can always be identified by the small shallow indentations that are located at 45 degree angles to the drive slots on the head of the screw. Pozidrive screws are almost universally standard on equipment of European manufacture.

While a Phillips driver can be used on a Pozidrive fastener, a Posidrive drive should never be used on a Phillips fastener as guaranteed stripping will occur.
