A document used by a Lighting Designer when writing cues. Often is an 8.5"x11" copy of the set ground plan with control channel numbers, groups, colors, and arrows indicating direction/angle of lights. Each designer has his/her favorite method.
Historical Note: There used to be a digital data pad that attached to a Colortran Prestige 2000 or 3000 light board. You could tape your plot or cue sheet on it, and then after programming the console you could control dimmers, take cues, etc. by tapping on your Magic Sheet. Other manufacturers offered similar, most notably ETC, with the Expression's
Designer's Work Sheet.
The most recent implementation is the
Virtual Magic Sheet.
