Default Any experience with eCue ?

I am working on a project where the client has fallen in love with the idea of LED panels. He wants to use a panel by traxon which is 19.7 inches square and has 64 Leds in it. ( looking to use 36 of the panels ). The question is whats the best way to control the 18 universes this will take.

Traxon recommends a product by a company called eCue called the Lighting Application Suite. e:cue - lighting control: Homepage This appears to be a software based system which is targeted towards architectural use.

Anyone have any experience with this product. Any suggestions for alternative methods of getting this running ( IE other control software? ).

From the 'What does it need to do' the answer is 'Needs to be simple for a non-experienced operator to call up various pre-defined looks'. - And 'Reasonable for an experience operator to set up new looks for playback by the non-experienced operator'.

    Thanks.

Pixel mapping it will work work. Most lighting consoles have this function built right in. Chamsys MagicQ does some nice pixel mapping. GrandMA and HogIII also will do it.

Biggest thing is... can the screens take a video input? I would think running this thing off a media server might be the way to go...

The screens themselves are pure DMX - ie no video input. eCue aparently makes a software product to convert video to DMX = but that might be the way to go.

Alternatively I can look at Chamsys, etc.

Looks like Traxon also makes the "Micro Server" to interface their panels with ethernet. Is it possible that a media server can push video to the micro server via ethernet?

This is a back up plan ( but I have not heard back from their customer support as yet). As near as I can tell the micro server has up to 99 'cues' loaded into it. You can select one manually or ( according to the marketing doc) trigger it via 'remote controlo'.
