Need help finding parts
One of the dimmer controls for our church houselights is needs to be replaced. We have an Electro Control dimmer circa 1979 that needs a new control pot. Someone broke off the little handle. The dimmer is an EC Type 8B3 Serial # J-29353. The part we need is a Stack Pole SLIDETROL 119 marked 5K (I assume 5000 ohms) with a number on it 304V7316. It is about 2 inches long and a quarter inch in square cross section and is a linear slider. Noy much of a problem but nagging since no one seens to make that exact part anymore. We are guessing we will have to substitute a rotary pot but lould like to keep the linear control if possible.

Check out Mouser.
I'm sure they have a 5k slide potentiometer. The problem is that it may not have the same footprint to fit on the circuit board.

Re: Need help finding parts
If you find the part at Mouser, make sure you get a "liner" as compared to "logarithmic" taper. The logs are used for analog sound boards, the liners are used in lighting boards.
5k is pretty common. finding the physical match-up will be a greater challenge.John Dziel
