Avatar (Film)
Just a funny thing I noticed in Avatar, They use Colorblasts as their holographic projectors... is this some new technology from color kinetics that they are holding back from us??

I did notice that, but was not sure if it was supposed to be a product placement or just a "that looks cool, we want that".

Re: Avatar (Film)
that would be an odd product placement, considering only a fraction of 1% of the population work with equipment like this... On a side note, one of my buddies asked me if there really were holographic projectors like that...

It would be fun product placement though. How many DJs do you think would recognize it and try and find out if it really did that? Not saying it will move units... Actually one of my friends asked if it was a real device as well, because they had seen something similar at a concert... perhaps this was not part of the 200 mil. effects budget? I wish!

Haha yea I totally noticed that too!
You must first know and understand the rules before you can break them.

Re: Avatar (Film)
i don't know if color kinetics can actually work that way, I didn't get to LDI, but I imagine it's probably in the works somewhere. Did the ck booth keep moving?

Re: Avatar (Film)
That's exactly it. They did the same thing in Star Trek 11 (the new one). There were checkout laser scanners on most of the bridge stations. I was like, ??? the new old Enterprise must be sponsored by Symbol.
