Post Patching ETC Revolutions on Strand Light Palette

I have a Strand Light Palette and two ETC Revolutions (no additional modules) that I have been trying to use. I can set the Revolutions to a DMX channel, and control them with that channel and the subsequent channels, but I cant use the Moving Light patch feature on the board, which means no encoders or additional helpful shortcuts. I have tried the method detailed in the (poorly spell-checked and confusing) manual to no avail, and have messed around with a couple other things, but nothing so far has worked. Advice would be appreciated.
If it's of any use to know, the board has a problem with the sub-masters, being that I nor my teacher can get them to work. I have done a hardware check, and every button on the console if functional. It might be a problem with confusing instructions in the manual, an actual problem, or PEBCAC. However, I a friend of mine has said that she has seen this problem with another Strand board before.

    Peyton,
I would call Strand and get Bobby their board specialist to help you with that. I know you can configure an unkown fixture.
I never have liked the Revolution, but that doesn't help you with your problem.

If you are not signed up on the strand forum strand-dev.com • Index page you should sign up. This would be the fastest way to get an answer to any Strand question. Also you should make sure you have the latest software installed on your console Strand Support Services | Strand Lighting - A Philips Group Brand There are a couple of ways to patch the fixture but first you should find out which revolution you have as there are 14 listed to choose from. With the console powered up go to the patch page S1. Make sure you are in patch by fixture S11. Choose S4[power patch] type in the channel numbers you want the fixtures patched to in S1[fixtures]. Press S3 [change fixture] scroll down top list to ETC and double click on it. The bottom half of the screen will populate with ETC fixtures, select the one you want to patch. select ok. In S4 [output start] type in the dmx channel you would like to patch the fixture to. select ok. Scroll the patch fixture page to the channel number you patched to and it should show the fixture patched and the start address of the fixture. Go back to the live page and select the fixture and make adjustments as needed.

Thanks. I got it all figured out on the offline editor now. Just need to try it in the real world when I can (probably Wednesday)

Default Help needed with Strand Light Palette Classic Console

Hey guys! I have a question about my board.

I am trying to run four ETC source four Revolutions off of my Light Palette Classic. Problem is I have inserted the 3-slot, rotating/indexing gobo wheel as well as the iris module (with the stock color scroll) and the console doesn't have the right profile for this setup. I have complete control over Pan/Tilt, Intensity, FX, but cannot properly use the Iris without the ML freaking out and I have NO control over the gobo wheel.

I have been told by an ETC rep that my configuration will eat 31 channels. I then searched all 31 channel profiles on the console and found none which gave me control over the gobo wheel (it won't even change which gobo slot is up). The HOG IPC I also have will run these ML's correctly and without hesitation but is often out on rentals. The local Performing Arts Center needs this setup to run correctly for a big show in January. Any ideas on how to make this console run these ML's properly?!?!?!

I know the easiest thing to do is to x-rent another HOG but this is a problem I would like to solve so it no longer haunts me in my sleep at night.

If you can send me the DMX map, then I'll get this built into the library asap. Please email to . Just so you know, we have a link on our support website where you can request fixtures for the library.

Strand has been really fast about creating fixture profiles for me in the past. Get Bobby your info and he'll most likely have the profile for you in less than a week.

Besides the Strand support contact info he listed above, be sure to browse the Strand Development Forum www.strand-dev.com There's a lot of good information there and it is directly monitored by the software developers so it's a great way to get questions answered casually when you don't feel like calling a hotline.

While it will work either way, it is recommended that you have the RWM module in the front bay and the IM in the rear bay. This shouldn't affect the iris working on not, but it would affect the RWM working on the appropriate control channels as there is a different set for the front and rear bay positions. I work with Revs a lot...

When we ran them on our old Strand 500 series desks, I used one profile that had all the possible attributes in it. That seems less practical on the newer desks.
