| Source Four Insulated Handle? is being discussed in the ControlBooth Lighting and Electrics forum; How come I notice this handle on a lot of Source Fours but not on any of the ones in ... |

Original 575W rated fixtures did not ship with them, but the 750W versions did. You will want to make sure that there are four holes on the lamp burner assembly (the back piece) to accept the handle.
Yes, you can order them. You will want contact your favorite ETC dealer and ask for the following:
(1) 7060A4037 Handle, Insulated rear, Black
(4) HW2181 Screw, 6-32 x 3/4, Taptite
You can find this information (and much more) in the assembly guide available on the ETC website here: Source Four Assembly Guide

Your fixtures were built between 1992 and 1997. The rear insulated handle was added in 1997, coinciding with the HPL750 lamp. The handle is available separately, ETC part#7060A4037, for around $11. Check with your friendly local lighting dealer.
Handle, Insulated Rear, Black, Source Four
EDIT: Kirk types faster than I do...

what exactly is it for? should I use it on my 575's or just the 750's

My yoke say 10/01 so i guess its odd it doesnt have a handle but still what exactly does it do ?

Makes it so that you can grab the rear of the fixture easier for focusing and without burning your hand (in the event that you find yourself focusing gloveless). Note that the Shakespeare by Altman always had the rear handle. Maybe that's the one thing Altman beat ETC at when designing their Source Four equiv.
..Also it electrically isolates you from sparking whips![]()
