Having recently acquired an iphone I am looking at methods on how to use it as, at minimum, a wireless RFU.

I know about the apps here: iPhone/iPodTouch/iPad Apps for Theatre - ControlBooth. I believe that an ethernet-to-DMX interface box is also needed, along with a generic wireless AP. But I am not familiar with ArtNet or sACN and I do not know how this fits in with the above mentioned pieces.

Is it as simple as: iphone commands are sent to the AP, then short ethernet cable to the ethernet-to-DMX converter, then DMX from there to our dimmers? Or perhaps more likely, the DMX might feed the DMX input of our console where the dimmers would respond to the DMX interface and the console with highest-takes-precedence, correct?

I'd appreciate any comments on whether the above is correct and what is a good app/DMX box combination to use. I'm sure my information contains many holes.
