I know what it goes in but I don't own one any more. This lamp is brand new, never been used.

It's a follow spot bulb! Remember it back in the late 60s, my high school had a 2100 watt incandescent follow spot and that's the bulb it used!

Just caught Derek's thread. Didn't read all the way through it but it was a multi-tap transformer so you could soft start the lamp. 50%, 75%, 100%

That's only $8.12 per hour plus about $10 of electricity over the 50 hour average lifespan! And I was thinking discharge lamps weren't cheap...

Don's Bulbs is a retailer and if they will buy the lamp, it's often at their own price in doing so. Fair enough no matter what the offer for the lamp. Ever use it again? What price can you get from them on it?

Might be a really low price in offer but often cannot do better. Sorry, but while I have never seen this lamp, I also don't have use for it.

PS. never bought lamps from them or sold to them. In pricing lamps were well over-valued overall in comparison. Don's bulbs specilizes in hard to find lamps.

Surprised at the 50 hour rating. I remember a couple of things about my high school days with the one we had. First, when I looked at the lamp, it was quite black. I asked how long it had been in there and was told about 8 years. We did not have a spare, so we ordered one. The 1969 price was about $25. The other thing was I quickly learned what the stuff was sitting in the lamp. When I took the lamp out to look at it and rolled it around a bit (trying to figure out what the stuff was), I noticed it was cleaning the darkened areas and had my answer! I remember thinking what a cool idea it was and why didn't all lamps have it? Anyway, when I graduated, the original lamp was still going strong.

Lamp pricing is based to a great extent on how many are made. I would suspect not many these days. I would put it on Ebay for $50. May or may not sell, but if a couple of viewers start a bidding war, you may do well!!
