Default Putting a Peasouper on a dimmer

For our upcoming show we are using a couple pea soupers backstage and I was wondering if putting them on a dimmer parked at 100% would damage them? I know how putting any sort of electronics on a dimmer will cause damage from the chopped sine wave but these are basically a heating element and a bob. I want to use a dimmer simply because of the convience of a 20 amp outlet and being able to turn them on and off with the light board.

We do it all the time with pea soupers and aqua foggers with no ill effects so far.

Keep in mind the Pea Souper takes a bit of time to heat up, and that the dry ice will evaporate if dropped in the world, even if the water has not yet been heated.
