Automated Fixtures - ShowXpress Help

I recently got a showxpress interface and a chauvet colorstrip. I addressed my fixture both on showxpress and on the light itself. I hooked up my interface to the computer and the controlboard recognizes it. The colorstrip's blue light in the back is blinking. The pc connection light is blinking on the interface. I have checked the dmx button on editior and on live. But for some reason, I cant seem to communicate with my light. It is not following anything I do on showxpress. Please help. I have the 512 interface and run windows 7.
