    Default Waterproof connectors

I am looking for a U.S source for some of these adapters. A few lights I have use these waterproof connectors on them. Is anyone familiar with these ends maybe I just dont know the proper name to do a Google search but I am having trouble coming up with anything. Please let me know if you have any info that might be helpful thanks.

From my experience with similar connectors with Elation, they all seem to be custom made for each fixture. I can't believe that's true, and I'm sure they're a factory somewhere pumping them out, but I've never been able to find anything. Even getting official replacements is pretty darn difficult. They just don't seem to be always available.

    Couple of things.
    1) The pin configuration is known as NEMA 5-15P and 5-15R
    2) What is pictured (at least on the female) is Water "Resistant" not water proof, which would be a whole different animal.
    3) Example of water "tight" (when not in use) Watertight Conn, Nema 5-15R 15A/125V, Bk - Straight Blade Devices - Plugs and Receptacles - 5RVX1 : Grainger Industrial Supply but the price is a stopper.

Best to probably order as a replacement part from the manufacturer. Would probably be a LOT cheaper.

How about this page of the McMaster Carr Catalog?

Also try calling your local professional electrician's supply store where the pro's really shop (not Lowes/Home Depot). I've never been to Vermont, but it looks like Green Mountain Electrical Supply is a good option for you to try. Search for Electrical Supply in your city.

    Not the same thing.
These look more like XLR than 5-15.

It is not a Nema cable. Here is another picture. I have talked to Chauvet but they don't seem to have them available. I was just seeing if I could find another source.

It looks like an IP44 or IP67 16 amp connector, but it's hard to tell from the picture.

Which lights are they for? I assume the Colorados. I can't imagine Chauvet not having inventory of cables for their colorado series... Then again, Chauvet has proved to be inefficient on stocking essential replacement items/parts before.

The waterproof LED PAR's that I use come with similar cables, I can them up and order replacements as needed. Are you looking for replacements? or are you looking to make your own to custom lengths?

It is for the Colorado 3p. They do not have these connectors which is suprising to me as well. I am just missing some of the adapters in the first pic so the units can be plugged into a standard outlet.

Chauvet uses these IP-rated connectors for their Colorado fixtures and for their Illuminarc incantations of the same Colorado fixtures. I've not seen these connectors available as parts since part of the ip rating is that they are molded, and we've sent back whole fixtures to be serviced when it's been something as simple as a short in the connector. Find out from your dealer if it is proprietary only to these fixtures, but you can purchase metric extensions for these fixtures if extending is what you need. The alternative is having the 3-pin to edison adaptors (and using your own jumpers) or having the molded dmx to 3pin XLR adapters, and again, using your own jumpers. Again, it all comes down to the ip rating, which is a huge selling point for Chauvet/Illuminarc.

If you can get an extension, you can put whatever you like on the end, I assume. I don't know if there would be any kind of code issues though.

So are you just looking for the connectors? Or the cable assembly (Molded IP Connector, Cable, End Plug *5-15*)? If the cable assembly, how many are you in need of?

Chauvet IP5Power - Proprietary linking cable (Proprietary on both ends) : They have these in stock, about $30 each to end user.

PTF2700003801 - Proprietary to 5-15 Edison connector : They are waiting on more to arrive from china. Sales guy told me 30 days from today. I do not have a price on these though, I forgot to grab one. At least you got the part number. Now play the waiting game.

Thanks. Looks like I might have to go the linking cable route. Since I was anticipating on using them sooner than later. Appreciate the followup though. I called Chauvet several times yesterday and today and could not get that info.

I have lights I ordered from China that have these connectors. I also have Colorkey IP65 LED's that use the same connectors. They seem to be very common. I'll call Colorkey in the morning to see if they have any in stock. I have ordered them separately in the past, so I know it's something they CAN do. I'll let you know.

I have the same units. I just didn't know if it was going to be an exact match, unfortunately I do not have any Colorado units to test this theory.

I *might* have some of those in the warehouse; did an install some time ago that didn't want the edison adapters since they were jumping fixtures together. I will look when I get in this evening.

Thanks Chris. Let me know. I gave Colorkey a call and the guy I spoke with said he would see if they had any spares around and get back to me.
