Default Power needed.

Let's say I have this following equipments to install :

15 x VL2500 Spot ( 700w each )
10 x VL2500 Wash ( 700w eash )
8 x Martin Atomic 3k ( 3000w each )
50 x Par 1k
23 x Leko 575w

It gives me 290amp on a 3 phases circuit.

Am I wrong ?

And by the way, the VL2500s manual does not say the exact power needed for the fixture. I used the power used by the lamp. Is there any way to find out the exact power needed for the fixture?

Thanks

Default Re: Power needed.

Some googling shows this for power consumption for the VL2500 spot and wash: 4A @230VAC

The VL website gives this information: POWER REQUIREMENTS
Standard AC power distribution from 90-264 VAC, 50/60 Hz. The unit requires 4 to 12 A depending on the AC supply voltage.

As far as the strobes: AC power (MAX-7 model): 100-120 V nominal, 50/60 Hz
AC power (MAX-15 model): 200-240 V nominal, 50/60 Hz
Peak current consumption: 33 A
Typical current consumption (MAX-15, high power mode): 8 A
Main fuse (all AC power voltages): 20 AT (slow blow), 250 V
Power supply unit: Auto-ranging electronic switch-mode

1st Question- Yes correct, for 120/208V, 3-phase system, if balanced, with all equipment on at full. Multiplying quantities x fixture wattages, and then totaling and dividing by 1000 to convert to KW yields 104.73 KW. Dividing this by .36 (208V x square root of 3 / 1000) gives 291 amps.

VL2500 specs. say 4-12A at 90-264 volts, which looks like about 1080 watts, or 9A at 120V. Add 400W on top of your 700W each, or another 10KW for the 25 should be safe. Brings you up to 319 amps.
