Default Teatronics MD 160

So we have a large stack of Teatronics modules from our old dimmer rack. (Replaced by ETC about 5 or so years ago). Anyway are these modules worth anything? Are they even DMX?

They are worth something to an installation that has them, as replacement parts/spares. Perhaps send a message to CB member ControlBooth - View Profile: Teatronics. Perhaps they could be of value or the manufaturer might know of someone who could use them.

I'll assume the MD 160 is a tray-mounted dimmer module. In a dimmer rack, DMX stops at the electronics module/control card/"brain." From there a PWM control signal is sent to each dimmer module's SSR. Thus a dimmer module may be a part of a DMX-controlled dimming system, but the module itself is not DMX.

New question. Are MD 160 modules compatible with an MD288 rack?

I've seen those before. I'm pretty sure those are a single 60A MD288 module.

Yes, definitely they're dumb modules, driven by the PWM logic on the firing card. Probably useful to somebody with an MD288 rack, but probably not much beyond that, unless you wanted to part them out or sell them off.

Ok sorry guys I should have said what I meant. Of course I know the modules themselves aren't DMX. I was wondering if they were intended for use in a DMX rack.

Obviously we have no use for them and are looking to sell them. I know CB doesn't have classifieds but I wanted to know if they were worth selling in the first place.

Perhaps an inquiry to one of the vendors listed in the Collaborative Article: http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/c...equipment.html ?

I have made a lot of prtable dimmers from Teatronics modules. Add a power cable, some output connectors and a control board from Northlight DMX products. By the way, the control modules for the Teatronics MD288 can do both DMX512 and AMX192. For AMX, you set the first thumbwheel for 6 and then the next two for the tens and units. The 6 on the first thumb wheel indicates 0 in AMX hundreds settings and 7 represents 1 in the hundreds. I forget exactly how it deals with the numbers above 192, but I think that it requires running a seperate line to the third module and starting at 601 again. Somebody gave me the old dimmer rack, because they were told that it was not DMX compatible. Once I discovered that it was, they had already been sold three 96 dimmer sensor racks. so they told me to keep it. I've made a lot of good stuff out of the parts.
