Default Elation DMX Operator

Hi all,

I'm new to the lighting world and I just bought a Elation DMX Operator, with 8 par can led lights.
The house lights at the church that we are using it at are on scanner 1 and the 8 lights are on 2-9. on the dmx operator it seems that I can only have the lights on while the scanner is selected. when unselected it the lights turn off.

The problem that I have is that I want to use the lights at the same time. When I have the par can lights on, and then turn the house lights up it affects the par can lights. So when I tun up my house lights the strobe affect turns on on the par cans. is there a way to control the lights separately with out turning off the other lights?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds like the units have overlapping addresses, make sure they don't. Also you need to be in record mode to set levels on different fixtures, in playback mode once you select a different fixture manually the other restores to the value set in the cue.

The users manual covers this and can be downloaded on the elation website.

The Operators starting address for each of the scanner buttons is 16 dmx channels apart, i.e., 1 - 17 - 33 - 49 - etc. Is that how you have the fixtures addressed?

Simply change the 4 adress channels in your LED par cans, if it is a dipswitch system we can talk you through that.
