Default MiNSpot Addressing

So I just received my MiNSpot - awesome, by the way - and in the manual, the only way it tells you to set the DMX starting address is with the dip switches, "usually on the bottom of the fixture". There are no dip switches on the bottom. Or on the sides. Or on the top. I figure I have to do it through the menu, but it doesn't say how in the manual.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Chauvet! I'll check my MinWash when I get home. If you haven't got an answer by then, I'll refresh myself on how the menu system works on mine. I don't remember off the top of my head.

Well, I think I figured it out. Whenyou'r eon the "D001" setting in the menu, you have to press up or down to select the starting address.
It puzzles me why this was NEVER in the manual.

Simple explanation, really. Either the section on addressing was copied from another fixture and no one noticed, or an earlier version of the fixture DID have dipswitches for addressing and the manual was never changed. Now I could go on a rant here about the quality of the manual reflecting the quality of the product/manufacturer, but I won't. I bought an $89 LED PARcan that came with no manual at all (and I still don't know all the menu options), and another that came with a one page, single-sided, "manual."

I particularly like manuals that were originally written in another language then translated. Or like Ikea, just little pictures with a funny looking carton character holding a screwdriver.

When I got my MinSpot's they were LDI Demo's. They were used to introduce the product for the first time, then refurbished and sold really cheap. Unfortunately, that mean I didn't even get a manual.

Did you figure out how to focus them yet?

You mean the little slider underneath the lens? Yeah, I saw that right away, but only because I watched a video before I got it where the guy took the cover off and looked at the focusing mechanism.

How cheap were yours? I got mine for $200 on eBay, used for 50 hours, with all original packaging, manual and accessories.

Manual is here if it's any use to anyone.

Thanks, Nick - but the problem was that the manual had faulty information, not that I didn't have a manual
