Default Playback Faders

I have an Element, and there are 2 playback faders above the Stop/Back button. However, Wherever it references the playback fader in the manual, it only talks about it as if there is only one. I don't foresee myself using the fader(s) for playback anyway, but I was curious as to why there are two.

Thanks

Default Re: Playback Faders

I agree with you that the manual is not as thorough as it could be on this topic.
Quote:
The master playback fader pair is located to the left of the control keypad. The master is a split cross-fader pair.
If you want to take control of a split-fade, or run one manually, the slider on the left controls channels whose intensities are increasing (UP fade time), and the one on the right those that are decreasing (DN fade time). Very similar to the scene masters on a two-scene preset board where one controls the incoming scene and the other the outgoing, except one is not inverted, they both go bottom to top.

Corb--I don't want to discourage anyone from posting any question (within our TOS) here on Control Booth, but I think some of your questions would be better served at The Element Forum - Electronic Theatre Controls. If you haven't joined yet, do so! You're an Element owner now! Eventually, (or very soon!), you're going to ask a question so specific that very few CB members will be able to answer. By rough guess, we have about twenty ETC employees here, sporadically; the ETC forum must have well over one hundred.

I am a part of the Element forum. I have taken advantage of it, but I've found that answers on Control Booth come faster and more people chime in. Also, this question seemed vague enough for a generic answer.

Thanks Derek.
