Default Remote phone light board control?

Hello everyone, while watching some reviews of our hopefully future board, the Element, I saw it had a phone jack, I have heard lightly about that, Am I right to say you plug a phone into it then you can take the phone within distance and press a number which corresponds with presets? Or is it just sub master 1-9, or is it dimmer wise? Like type 5 and 6 and turn on dimmer 56 or something like that? If anyone could explain how it works, I guess it could be useful, not sure how really though xD

There is indeed an actual phone jack on the back of the board. And yes, you can indeed use a cordless phone as a remote focus unit.

See Appendix D of the Element v1.6.0 user manual.

It's called the "Phone Remote". It doesn't offer anywhere near the functionality of the actual Radio Focus Remote, but it is much cheaper and works in a pinch.

Yes the Element supports a phone remote. Plug any cordless base station into the RJ11 jack and refer to page 128 of the manual to learn how to use the phone keypad.

LightingPenguin was unfamiliar with the backplate of the Element. I didn't think it had one either until I looked it up. He is now aware.

As I said, Appendix D. Page 129, methinks. This is in the current (v1.6.0) manual.
