Default Colortran SceneMaster 60

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a Colortran SceneMaster 60 (Plus) either to rent or to buy...
I know its a dated piece of technology but it is not like i need to do anything spectacular with it... The one we had burnt out a while ago and since then has gone "missing"

Or perhaps... if anyone could recommend a satisfactory replacement that won't break the bank... but still run on that system?

Hi pantz, welcome to CB, feel free to introduce yourself in the new members section, check out the collaborative article Sources for Used Equipment, if you can't find one there, then we will be able to help you find an alternative, do a search for "new console" you will find a gazzilion threads on the topic. Just a few quickies:
  • How many Dimmers do you have?
  • What is the maximum amount of movers/leds/dimmers that will ever be used?
  • What's your budget?
  • How long until you can upgrade again?

Nick

Call Steve Short at Litetrol Service, in Hicksville, NY, 1 800 548 3876

As well as being an authorized Colortran/ETC/Strand authorized service facility, Steve received a lot of Colortran parts, including consoles, when C-Tran was purchased by NSI and re-located to Portland. He has a very large back room of stuff, including more older consoles that I want to count.

Prior to calling, maybe determine if your dimmers are listening in Colortran CMX/D192 control protocal, or DMX ?. It's an easy upgrade from CMX to DMX (for console and dimmer control modules), but best find out before plugging in the console and finding out nothing talks to ea. other.

Steve B.

the problem it virtually solved, church is hooking me up with what i need... and i am excited to have finally found it. (hah ironically you guys also have the manual somewhere on here... i dont really need it but what the hell right?)

Oh and SteveB I know mr short, i have actually met him in person.. he used to service the old board before it burnt out... but last that i heard he didnt have one that he was willing to part with... or at least at a price that was in my budget.

Thing is, i would go through the trouble of getting a brand new board, and putting in all this work IF the stage we use it for was used more than once a year. funny how after the school built its new auditorium that I (an alumni many years out) is still the only one to care about that stage
