Default Altman 360q Lamp Issues

I'm trying to install a new lamp into an Altman 360q and for some reason it wont sit all the way in the terminal. I've lapmed 2 others with the same batch of lamps so I know its not me or the lamps themselves. Any Ideas?

Maybe there's a broken remnant of the last lamp still in the socket?

Can you see clean brass in the socket? If you can't, you need to replace the lamp base socket. Do a search, it will tell you how.

I've had issues in the past with FLK's and the metal retaining ring thats installed over the socket. Depending on the batch of lamps it may be just a hair big and is a simple fix.

I pulled an old lamp out just before I attempted putting the new one in. Everything came out cleanly. The lamp wasn't even blown, it was just the the wrong wattage. (Somebody thought that putting a 1000w lamp into a 575w fixture would make more light...) I can see clean brass. Its almost as if the hangup is within that spring with the bubble that holds the lamp in place, but compairing it to the others, it doesnt seem misshapen or deformed in any way.

EDIT: I attempted to put the old lamp back in as well, just to see if it would fit, and I had the same issue.

Actually, it will. But it comes with a price.

As for your socket issue, it sounds like removing the old lamp damaged it somehow. Will the offending lamps fit into any other fixture's sockets? If so you have narrowed it down to the base and it needs to be replaced regardless.
