Default Identify an Old Light Board

I have a old light board in the booth of one of my theaters. When powered on it says something with "ETC" This board is very long and is a grey color. About 60x2 sliders. It does DMX and Has VGA out. I am looking for the manual for it because it has been replaced by a smaller Strand 200 board and am wondering if it will still work. Rumor is that something in the patching didn't work but this is hard to belive as this board was seldom used and was replaced when our newer theater was built (the strand rep looked at it and said we needed a new board)

Descrition:
Grey
Long
buttons contain red LED's and click
VGA out (standard)
DMX
Small display on board that says ETC
will do 2 scene
floppy drive

Sounds like an ETC Express. Does it have a trackpad on the right side, like a touchpad on a laptop?

Sure sounds like an ETC Insight to me, but not having a picture makes it pretty dang hard to identify.

So the Strand rep looked at your school's [possibly ETC] board and says "yup you need a new board". No offense to company reps or anything but I would not have taken the advise of a biased individual who whose main goal is to sell their product...

Its not an express, express has all green LED's. My vote goes towards an ETC Idea. Does it have a numerical keypad on it and a "go" button? How many faders are in each fader bank? Is there any other words or stickers on the console?

....does it look like this....

This board is older than that no touchpad (no moving light support) and it saves to a floppy disk. This board may or may not be the original to the theater which was built in 1972 but it looks as this was before DMX and the dimmer rack is also ETC so that means that sometime before 2003 this board was purchased along with new dimmers.

I was not there when this decision was made but I am not trying to prove someone wrong.

I really want to find the manual thats all.

I'll try to get pics but I am in another theater tonight.

Likely an Express or an Idea console. Don't think either ever had 60x2 faders though.
Any other words/markings on the top or back?
A picture would be nice... but it sounds like you are doing this from memory. Do you have access to the board?

As everyone posts at once....
Yes it sounds like an Idea. If it is, it's a basic 2 scene/memory console. It has the "Idea" label in the upper left corner.
