Was thinking of getting some Selecon Acclaims, but am wondering if my 7.25" Smart Colors would work with them? I think even with the 6.25" mounting plate they would be too big. The Selecon color frame size looks to be 4-7/8".. But found a Selecon web page showing the Acclaim is compatible with the 5.25" SC with a 6.25" MP... now I'm confused? Anybody know for sure? Thanks.

Since the specs for the Acclaim say 4 7/8" color frame size, I would imagine that you will either need the correct mounting plate or the Universal Mounting PLate for your smart colors. If you have a metal shop or know a local one, it probably would not be hard to fabricate a mounting plate for this size if Apollo Doesn't make one, although Apollo may be willing to just make one for you.

Thanks, good ideas.. I had the universal MP's, but found it easier to change the 3 sizes of fixed MP's than to adjust the UMP's (maybe I should have tried a bit harder...), so I exchanged them for the fixed... I don't change that often.
Kelite, if you're here, is there a 4-7/8" fixed MP for the 7.25" Smart Color, and does the UMP adjust down to 4-7/8"?? Or do you have to use the 5.25" SC (except that seems to only come with a fixed 6.25" MP)...?? |

I can't seem to attach the .pdf blueprint of this particular mounting plate, Jmac. Sorry- but for some reason no attachments will upload...
