Hello all,
I'm wondering if it's easy to make my own double c-clamp like this: I have a bunch of C-clamps but not sure how to make them double sided like that. Anybody have any suggestions on the right way to do this? I'm doing this so I can hang my pinspot bar to a skyhook bar. My pinspot bar is 2" OD pipe. I believe the pipe thru the skyhook is the same. Thanks in advance! |

The short answer is "You shouldn't," for a variety of reasons, one of the most important being c-clamps are not rated for this purpose, see Are C-clamps rated?. There are much better and safer options available.
If the two pipes are parallel, use two "PAR bar hangers": ![]() Image from Premier Lighting-Clamps, but these are available from many manufacturers, in various lengths. If the two pipes are not parallel, use two swivel-cheeseboroughs: ![]() In either case, be sure to use at least two safety cables (one near each clamp) around both pipes. What exactly are you referring to when you say "skyhook"?
