Default Martin Roboscan 218mkII Refit

Ok so I am trying to find out if any has tried this! The Roboscan uses a MSD200 lamp which cost around $100 to replace, has anyone that owns these units tried to refit them with a different base? For example a Med. 2-pin Integral Heat Sink base for a HPL 375. Or something similar, but which uses a lamp that doesn't cost a fortune.
