Has anyone used this new Robe moving light. I have been recommended to use it for an upcomming show. Can anyone give me some feedback on it? Strengths and Weaknesses etc

I have never used one, but from what I hard heard, and remembering back to a review of it a while ago in PLSN or simmilar, I heard that it was a good fixture around equivilant to mid-range HES or Martin fixtures. Its no varilight, but for a decent budget, it is supposed to be a decent light.

Pros: Reliable (everything I've seen from Robe has been)

Adjustable zoom (nice if you want to make the fixture do double duty (ex onstage + gobos on house walls)

Relatively quiet (at least for Robe, and the fan is DMX adjustable)

Cons: Still not whisper quiet (in theatre, you might need to break position changes up over several fades to keep the noise down over a quiet scene)

Stock Gobos, especially the rotating ones, are (I think) pretty lame

8 bit mode is jerky, so it wouldn't be my first choice for operation from a non-mover aware console
