Looking for some "good" on-line lighting courses...am fairly new to the lighting world and am always looking to "learn" more. Any ideas or websites would be greatly appreciated.

This has been the closest I have ever been able to find for an online course for stage lighting.
These guys can answer just about any question you can ask. I also like to read http://livedesignonline.com/ and other random places on the internet. I also use http://www.schorsch.com/kbase/glossary/ and http://www.theatrecrafts.com/glossary/glossary.shtml to understand what they are saying, and learn other big words to show off to other techs. Wikipedia doesn't have too much information on it yet. There are some efforts to improve it, but nothing has actually happened there for a while. If you have ETC lights, http://www.etcconnect.com/minisite/sourcefour/index.html has some simple information that could also apply to other light fixtures. I also read some good books at the library. Scene Design and Stage Lighting by Orson Welles is good. (only one I can remember right now) But, I have never heard of an online class. If you ever find one, I'de like to know too. |
