Default ColorWize Scroller?

***typo. it should be "ColorWiz"

Anyone ever heard of or used it before? It's by Wybron I believe. A rental company has it here dirt cheap, which is prob for a reason, but I was wondering if it works well or not because i may want some cheap resources for the next show I've got coming up.

It was made by wybron back in the late 80's. That's why it'll be so cheap. Probably won't calibrate well, all that fun stuff.

Do they not work off of DMX and just off and AC current?

I think that I read somewhere that someone used them with a power supply from ETC?

http://www.blue-room.org.uk/lofivers...hp/t14408.html

EDIT: Just to note, all of ETC's signal distribution and conversion gear is distributed under the sub-brand of "Response", so that isn't much help for the unit (referencing the Blue Room post there)...

Odds are the are 0-10. Call the rental house to see what they actually are. I would be surprised if they were DMX made in 1987, and by surprised, i mean its nearly impossible. I wouldn't touch them with a 300 foot poll with a clown on the end. Get some forerunners or smartscrollers.

Were you planning to rent these old scrollers, or buy them outright?
