Is there room for improvement in a Fresnel? Maybe with an HPL?

What could ETC do to make a better Fresnel? What should the main focuses be? Heat dissipation? Light weight and small size? Is there anyway portions of a S4 Fresnel could be interchangeable with either a S4 PAR or S4 ERS? Would be interesting...

I'm just curious how ETC could set a S4 Fresnel apart in the crowd.

I'd bet it would use an HPL and probably look like a S4 par/nel. Maybe something like a patt 123? Oh and it would have a dichroic reflector. The major area where fresnels need to be improved is efficiency. Even with an HPL it would still be very inefficient because the reflector allows so much light to be lost. Improve the efficiency and light collection and the unit would run cooler also.

I doubt ETC could do anything in Fresnel innovation that hasn't already been done by Selecon. I mean, who knows, it's called innovation for a reason, but just my thought.

The DeSisti Monet is a 6in fresnel that is available with a medium prefocus base or an HPL base. It can be lamped up to HPL750. It puts out an amazing amount of light compaired to a standard 6in with a BVT 1000w.
