I need help tracking down an issue I am having with dead dimmers.

where is the dimmer patched?

CD-80 racks, as do most others, have a patch table in them where the dimmer can be patched to respond to individual DMX addresses, (not necessarily the one that corresponds with it's number). Also check the patch in the console...

Not quite sure what you mean, as CD-80 Supervisor dimmer modules don't have momentary "test" buttons. As jmabray said, the problem is most likely in the Processor Module's patch. Have you read the CD-80 SV manual, and have you given Strand tech support a call?
