Embarrassed DMX-70 Question

I just got a new DMX-70 hooked up to four DMX-4 Dimmers. I've created three scenes, but I cannot figure out how to implement slow fades. Scene one is all channels at full brightness, but I'd like to see the lights go from blackout to full brightness in 5 seconds. Then I'd like to hit "Scene Button #2" and go from scene one to scene 2 in 10 seconds.

I think I followed the instructions to the best of my knowledge (obviously NOT) using the fade slider to have the LCD panel indicate 5 seconds, but it just is not working - it always goes from one scene to the next instantly.

Thanks for any help,
Lon

This controller does not appear to be conventional "friendly".

I don't know the console. Who makes it?

But judging solely by its name, I think I know what kind it is, which explains the problem.

You have to be in "auto" mode to implement timed fades. Yup, it's that bad. Sucks, right?

Would you name a couple of conventional boards as an example please.

Thanks,

I to am a fan of NSI boards. 70xx or 75xx series. 70xx is cheaper, but 75xx has a lot more capabilities.

Correction. Chauvet SELLS it. See here for a similar comparison. Fine for DJ applications. Has no place in a theatre.
