Hi!
I had a question that's not really pertaining to tech theatre. When you photograph theatrical scenes, do you use a flash, or do you let the stage lighting do its own work?
When the P.R. people come into do the photo shoot, they use flash on their camera and it seems to wash out any effects that I do with my light plot - especially on a cyc background.

Thanks for the update on the old date icewolf. I'm still working out the kinks on b/w Crucible. The actors have totally bought into it and our set changes will be accompanied by b/w PD congressional hearings form 1952.
It's been a challenge and fairly expensive but I think we just might pull it off.

Hi Alex,
Yep I live here in SLC, I just finished a class last semister from Peter, I will be taking another this fall - lighting II. I did tour the stage for the Producers last spring and listen to The LD's and Set Designers talks - they were excellent! My experience comes Brigham Young University some years ago - designed lighting for about ten years. Would like to help at PM if you need it.

hi. i was told to come to you. my school has a strand lighting board 300 console. and our bump buttons (we think thats what they are called, the buttons below the faders/submasters) don't work. they used to, now they don't. do you know how to fix it? The manual mentions it but doesn't actually really say how to fix. they talk about a bump mode button, but we don't have one.
any help would be great.
thanks
