Van, John Armour here. I'm on Control Booth now (obviously). I'll perhaps catch up with you more often here than in real life.

Hi Van, I'm new to CB today! Regarding your VSSD recipes, I've a question about spread rate. I realize it partly depends on how thick it is applied, but in general, can you give me a rough idea of how far the 3rd recipe as written (the one you like to use for rocks, etc.) will go? I'm creating 13' high birch tree trunks out of 2" insulation foam that will be attached to hardwalls and I want to use your scenic dope to create the bark on the forms (single-sided). Also, I was thinking of using gauze in the mix to help create the peeling bark effect. Any sage advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!

    Hi Van,

I stop in from time to time. I don't have a lot of time to surf these days. How are things going down at ART?

    Hello,
I am currently working on a top driven friction drive turntable 12' in dia ,I am using a 3/4 hp delta with a gear reducer/maximizer, with a delta variable speed contol box, I am running a sprocket off of the maximer straight to a sprocket attached to a bearing go cart tire, that is mounted on a fx bar of 3/4" solid cold rolled steel,My question is the motor an turntable worked fine ran the turntable many revolutions no problem, went to test again and have determined that the 3/4" steel rod is deflecting My ? Is a largeer bar stock required or would simlpy adding support structure to the none sprocket side of the bar stock solve this deflection problem?

So these are some Ray traced Renders of the front of the theatre. I'm still learning how to use Kerkythea and it's a difficult, no instructions included program, but hey it's free!

So my First full week back at work after a three week furlough! Can't say I didn't make up for lost time. This last week was supposed to be the week that I received drawings for our first show of the season, All My Sons. On a quick side note, I just want to say I'm so completely Jazzed about finally getting to do this show. AMS is my all time favorite Miller piece and, I feel his most relevant in modern times. While Death of a Salesman will always be an American classic I think there are a lot more...

Hey! I've always wanted a Blog. Everybody talks about Blogging and I figure I like the idea of a forum where I can say almost anything and bored or delight other to death.
This is going to be fun 'cause I'm on "furlough" for another two weeks. I quoted Furlough 'cause I'm not really furloughed. They cut everybody's pay by 3 weeks over the last 9 pay periods and told us we had to take 3 weeks of time off over those periods. Somehow, Management believes this means we can't claim unemployment....
