What do you use as a platform for a live cam feed. We have tried two different types of scaffolding, a table, and one of those rolling scissor lifts. All 3 were very shakey (the cam is zoomed pretty far), but both scaffolds were bad, the table was ok but not really high enough, and the lift was as shakey as the scaffolding. The platform could be as low as 4' but that would be almost a straight on shot (6' seems to look best) or up to 8'. Any suggestions? Thanks............

For most conventions, the use of a spider pod is the standard. With this type of system, you are isolating the movement of the operator from the camera itself which minimizes the shakey image, especially when using a sports lens. While it may not fit within your budget to purchase one, most rental staging companies will have them available.

Back in the day when we used scaffold for camera positions, we'd use cheesebourghs and 1.5" steel pipe as angled stiffners for the towers. Worked quite well.
