Great site with lots of valuable information. I have an electrical background and in the last 5 years began lighting design for several theatre companies.
For venues without permanently installed equipment I have a modest inventory of par cans and lekos and some cheap moving lights. I run these using Lightfactory.
Recently I have been working with a local High School to develop specifications to change out their 50 year old Hub electric Switchboard with 24 autotransformer dimmers. - If anyone needs parts I have some available. This is some old stuff - the coils of the 6600 watt dimmers weigh almost 50 lbs!
The new installation will relocate the dimmers to the catwalks using ETC smartbar dimmers.
