Default Hello and rock on! | DMX

I'm Monty. Over the past few weeks I've been researching DMX and CB keeps coming up in my Google searches. What a great place and thanks so much to the veteran contributors!... I love communities such as this!

Generically, I've been freelancing audio, video and lighting productions for almost ten years and finally put freelancing down to take a salary job at a large venue. I thought I knew a bit about lighting until I took this new job on and wow do I have new learning curve to straighten out.

I'm wondering if anyone has any foundation DMX reading recommendations right off the bat?... Besides typical wiki information. I know there are some respected authors of books, blogs and articles here at the forums... I'm not sure who's who yet though. If you'd like to promote something to me DMX related or know who the 'DMX Cats' are so I can follow them, I'm all ears.

    Thanks again to veteran contributors/posters!
    Cheers
    -Monty

For more, although non-free, reading, see the PLASA/ANSI standards page: TSP - Published Documents - About TSP Documents, Published Documents, Public Review Documents, Procedural Documents . Nothing like going direct to the source. Also there's the book Practical DMX by Nick Mobsby.

That should be enough to get you started. Once you've digested all those, come back and we'll give you some more.
