Just to answer a few questions I was already asked in ^^.

NO I am most certainly NOT a high school techie. After one experience trying to make that work out (I was an ASM), I chose not to do that anymore. NOT worth it. What a bunch of jerks.

Second. I work mostly with Sound and Lighting Tech. Mainly (my favorite), live sound! I have been doing that for 7-8 years now. Church and church related events (concerts at church, stuff like that).(read more on our church's screwed up system in a post soon to come).

Lighting, I also run lights at a friends church, we use express etc board.

I will soon be working on a new project of my own, involving the ETC Express 24/48 board, 32 channel Mackie sb, 20-40 Conventional lights, 4 moving heads (etc revs).

Anyways, thats me.

I'll also add my welcomes to the board. I'm neither a sound or lighting sort of tech, but that doesn't stop this board from being a great place to pull info (especially since I'm not lighting or sound, I rely upon the other, more knowledgable folks here...or at least I will once we get into some actual production - I hate that lag period between one show being up and the other one in the beginning construction stage...but I digress).

Welcome to the Booth, Freedom! Sounds like you've got a lot of fun learning experiences ahead of you. There are lots of people around here who really know this stuff well.

Secondly, just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with high school tech. The vast majority of high school and college tech crews I've taught over the years have been tight groups who are really supportive of each other even when the people involved come from very diverse backgrounds and wouldn't normally be caught dead hanging out together.
