Angry Old newbie, outsmarted by kids

Hi, my name is Robin and I am the auditorium director at a high school, I have held this part time position for 3 years now and I was the back up director for 4 years before that. I am having problems now because, due to budget constraints my duties have now been cut back so that now I only operate the lighting and sound for outside rental groups. The student operate the systems for school functions. So far they have melted a hole in the monitor to the light board, spilled pop in the sound system, and lost the operation manual for my state of the art (1986 or so) minstrel plus sound board, they then reprogramed it and they do not even know what they did. I need a manual. Help!

Here is the manual you seek: http://www.balny.com/PDF/lite.pdf. Perhaps one advantage the kids possess is that they know how to use the search feature. I suspect they also know that "minstrel plus sound board" is incorrect.

As for equipment damage and other lack of discipline, who's running the asylum?
Good authors too who once knew better words, Now only use four letter words, Writing prose.
